I'm really tired and so my ability to make witty comments is limited. My ability to be grateful to SBJ for all of his work, though, will never diminish.
The man in question, fitting together the jigsaw puzzle that was the chimney wall; he had to remove a plank to wire the lights, and replaced it so that there would be a solid backing to hang a mirror over the (future) sink.
Later in the day (probably close to 6, gauging by the sunlight angle), the same light, the same wall, now new and improved with some drywall!!
Yesterday, SBJ went fishing in my ceiling, and found a wire!! (The ceiling light, when it was one room instead of two, was in the middle of the room. There is a wall there now...which is a problem. The original location is the hole on the left.)
This is actually kind of late-ish yesterday afternoon, I think, when we decided, for the sake of SBJ's sanity and blood pressure and us not biting each other's heads off, that not fixing the three-way switch to the main kitchen light (not technically part of the bathroom project, but when you have a willing and stubborn EE on your hands, you carpe the diem) was the wiser course of action.
After SBJ took off and I swept the inch of drywall dust off the floor and took a minute to breathe and say holy CRAP we got a lot of work done...
And I spent today putting on the tape and the first coat of mud. I'm actually incredibly pleased with how well it's coming out--I haven't done drywall mud since I was about eleven. Now, this is only the first of many coats, so by the end of the week, I could be needing a straitjacket. We'll see.
very impressive - and the pics of SBJ are cute too!
